Blog: Instant Photo Guestbook + Free Template!

Right about the time I got married, Polaroid cameras were all the rage at weddings.  Unfortunately, at the same time Polaroid decided to stop making Polaroid instant film.  A bit of a conundrum.  I was lucky enough to buy a bunch of Polaroid film from Walgreens really cheaply before it was discontinued, and stored it for use in my wedding, and I’m really glad I did!  It was so much fun to have a camera for people to take their own photos with, that we could see instantly.  When we collected up all the photos, I was amazed at who had their photo taken, and how candid they were.

Mustaches were also popular when I got married…

Instead of a traditional guestbook, I decided to make my own with a bunch of questions for people to fill out, and a place for our guests to attach a Polaroid of themselves.

The problem now is that there is pretty much NO Polaroid film left to buy.  So when my friend Beth got married and wanted to do something similar, I remembered a post at Oh Happy Day about alternatives to Polaroids, including the Fuji Instax Mini.  We decided the Mini was too small, so we went with the Fuji Instax 210.  It worked out great, just as well as a Polaroid (though not as familiar).

Now you can rent the Fuji Instax 210 from Ultrapom!

But that’s not all- I’ve made a photo guestbook template free for download here!  It is sized for printing on letter-sized paper, two to a sheet, with room on the left for punch holes to put them in a photo album.
