Blog: First Anniversary Photo Shoot on Southern Weddings

peaked tent petal taffeta tablecloth hemlock and blush gold flatware

What a special photo shoot!  Not only did we get to think creatively with a bunch of Kansas City designers, but we also had a great reason to pull it all together – a first anniversary celebration for Madi Reid Sanders, of Soiree Event Designs and Bella Bridesmaids, and her husband Bret.

This photo shoot was the brainchild of photographer Cassandra Castaneda,  and was inspired by how great hemlock green and blush look together. We worked with Andrea Deschaine of Branches & Twigs to further develop the concept. We wanted something modern, but still soft and romantic. Megan Ibarra of Little Yellow Leaf rounded out the concept with great printed materials. My particular favorite is Bret and Madi’s vows printed out on each of their plates, as a surprise to Bret.

Our ivory petal taffeta tablecloth was the base for the table design, filled out with our modern gold flatware, plates and tea service from the Vintage Plate Company,  our gold candlesticks, and florals by Branches & Twigs.  We used our brand new peaked tent (makes a great chuppah, we can drape it with lots of different fabrics!) to make the table set up cozier.

For the serving table, we used our taupe sequin tablecloth as a neutral base, then filled our apothecary jars with different white candies and conversation hearts. Megan at CakeGirl made some gorgeous cakes, which were placed on our white cake stand, vintage plates from the Vintage Plate Company, and our vintage books.
